Social Media Action TODAY to Stop Rapes of Factory Workers
The women at Classic Factory in Jordan - where Hanes, Target, and Macy’s have clothes made - are being repeatedly raped by their managers. We’ve (we being the Change.org Women’s Rights and Human Trafficking teams) just got word that some of the women who spoke out have disappeared and others are being tortured. At this point, we feel like the only hope for these women is to ask these big brands to pull their business until the managers are fired and an independent monitor is put in place to ensure the workers’ safety.
Below are the social media actions - on Facebook and Twitter - we’re asking people to take today. I’ve also included the link to the blog and to the petition - if you have a blog, please consider covering this issue today and asking your readers to take part in our social media action.
